As you know, lockdown Level 3 which commences on 1 June 2020 is the most significant opening up of the economy since the commencement of the lockdown on 26 March 2020. The Government says it will open up all the core productive sectors of the South African economy which include sectors in manufacturing, mining, electronics, furniture, finance and retail.
The Immigration Services of the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) will however remain closed during level 3 and the DHA will continue to render only those services as outlined in our previous post:
This means that no new visa or permit applications may be submitted for processing locally or abroad and we still have no clarity on whether all pending applications shall be processed and/or if so, when or how these outcomes will be despatched. We will however continue to update our website with any additional or further information we receive.
Our offices shall accordingly remain closed during level 3 of the lockdown (save for urgent matters) in line with the Regulations of the Disaster Management Act which encourages anyone able to work from home to do so. We will continue to do our level best to serve our clients as best as possible while working remotely and will continue to hold consultations via video conference and/or telephone.
We remain available on email throughout the working day and look forward to being of assistance to you. Remain warm, safe and well.
